While some people need a VPN mainly for the reasons of staying safe and keeping their private information intact, there are also those who turn to VPNs mostly because they want to be able to access some geo-restricted content online. If you’re one of these people, and you’re looking for a free VPN for Firestick, you’ve come to the right place!

In this free VPN Firestick review, we’ll take a look at some of the top free VPN providers (also those that offer a free trial), and see if we can find the best free VPN for Firestick (Kodi). In total, we’ll be reviewing 5 VPNs:

So, without further ado, let’s jump straight into it.

Why Get a Free VPN for Firestick?

Imagine this situation - you get yourself an Amazon Firestick, set everything up and are ready to watch your favorite Netflix TV show in amazing 4K quality… And it doesn’t work.

That’s actually a really common scenario to find oneself in. A lot of people fall prey to this, and since they don’t really know what to do next, they just give up and blame it on the Firestick. The fact of the matter, however, is that your brand new Firestick isn’t to blame - geo-restricted content is.

Whether it’s Netflix, YouTube, or any other popular video entertainment platform, region-locked content is everywhere around. Most of the fault falls on to licensing agreements and similar technicalities, but the fact still stands - not everyone is able to see the same content on the same platform. It mostly depends on where you live - and this is exactly where VPN’s come in.

If you decide to use a free VPN for Firestick, you’ll be able to avoid restrictions and access content from all over the world. Whether you want to find the best free VPN for Firestick Kodi or simply a decent provider that would allow you to browse movies and TV series in peace - VPNs are great tools in these types of situations!

Do keep in mind that some of the VPNs in this “best free VPN for Firestick” review are only offering users a free trial, and are not free to use forever. This is because there are many free VPNs that are either a huge scam (they log your information and leak your data), or claim to provide free streaming services when actually that’s not really the case.

With that out of the way, let’s move on to the actual free Firestick VPN list.

1. NordVPN - 7-Day Free Trial

Ranks #1 out of 5 VPNs

The very first free VPN Firestick provider on this list, NordVPN offers users a 7-day free trial - you’ll have 7 whole days to access whether or not Nord is worth the money, and I have a feeling that you might be pleasantly surprised.

While NordVPN might not be the very first contender that pops into your head when you’re thinking about a free VPN for Firestick, it should certainly be up there with the best of the best. In a way, Nord kind of has it all - everything from top tier security all the way to speed and servers are covered by this provider. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves and take a closer look.

Security-wise, NordVPN uses all of the latest and greatest data encryption and safety measures - the AES 256-bit data encryption mixed in with the OpenVPN protocol, a kill switch for when things go South, a strict no logging policy… You name it!

Nord also offers great speed, both regionally and on the international level. This goes hand-in-hand with the company’s server count - the company offers more than 5000 servers in 61 countries for its users to choose from! A lot of these servers are also dedicated ones - whether it be streaming (i.e. Netflix) or Peer-to-Peer file sharing, Nord comes out to be a great free VPN for Firestick Kodi.

As mentioned above, Nord offers people the chance to test the provider’s services out - you’ll have 7 whole days to see whether or not NordVPN meets your expectations as a free Firestick VPN. A week of free VPN usage - that’s not bad! Even after that week (if you decide to continue using the provider), the prices are pretty good - purchasing the most popular 3-year plan, you’d only have to pay $2,99 USD per month!

2. CyberGhost - 24-hour Free Trial

Ranks #2 out of 5 VPNs

The second provider on this “best free VPN for Firestick” list, we have the Romania-based VPN that has become famous for its fun-to-use interface and good plan pricing options. I say this because CyberGhost - same as NordVPN - also offers users a free trial, and is paid-to-use afterwards. That said, while Nord does offer 7 days to test the VPN out, Cyberghost isn’t that generous - here, you’ll only get 24 hours.

That being said, Cyberghost doesn’t lack in any aspect of the matter. It isn’t one of the all-time top VPN providers for nothing - AES 256-bit data encryption (can you guess what I’m going to say next? Yup, you got it… - together with the OpenVPN protocol), 7 simultaneously supported devices at a time, a kill switch, and close to 4000 servers in 60 countries as of writing this list. Pretty good!

A great thing about Cyberghost is that it doesn’t only allow you to freely use and connect to Netflix and torrenting servers (something somewhat essential for a free VPN for Firestick, don’t you think?), but it also supports the usage of Tor (the super-secure browser that became infamous because it is used to access the Deep Web).

While Cyberghost is only a free VPN for Firestick Kodi for one day, the pricing plans of the company (again - same as with NordVPN) are definitely affordable! The 3-year plan totals at around $2,73 USD per month (here, 1 EUR = 1,11 USD). That’s a bargain! So, if you’re in the market for the best free VPN for Firestick, do give Cyberghost a shot!

3. TunnelBear - Free 500MB Per Month

Ranks #3 out of 5 VPNs

TunnelBear - the cutest and fuzziest VPN provider on this list (and, quite frankly, on any other lists, as well).

If you were to look for a VPN on the App Store, chances are that TunnelBear is going to be the very first provider that pops up. And this isn’t without a reason, either - according to the user review count, it is the absolute favorite when it comes to VPN providers for mobile devices. Why is that the case? Simple - TunnelBear offers the coolest, most fun-to-use interface in the industry.

You might be thinking - I don’t care about mobile usage or the interface - I just need a free VPN for Firestick! Well, don’t worry - TunnelBear’s got you covered in that department, too.

The bear allows you to access P2P file sharing and even the Tor browser with no noticeable problems. The only thing that might be a slight issue is Netflix - since the company is getting better at blocking VPNs by the day, it would seem that TunnelBear’s servers do not work and don’t unblock Netflix USA for international users anymore.

However, to this very day, some users report that they ARE actually able to access the site and stream its content with this VPN! Given this, it’s hard to say for sure.

Close to 400 servers in 22 countries - that’s what you’ll get if you sign up with TunnelBear. Furthermore, I’m happy to be able to say that this is an actual “free VPN Firestick” - while they have a couple of pricing plans, they also offer a completely free one that caps at 500Mb of data per day! You can increase the amount by giving them a Twitter share, however.

4. Windscribe - Free 10GB Per Month

Ranks #4 out of 5 VPNs

While Windscribe might be one of the less-known free VPN for Firestick providers on this list, it has certainly made its name when it comes to content streaming and file sharing.

Let me just tell you something straight off the bat - if you’re looking for the “safest VPN in the industry”, Windscribe might not really be the optimal choice here. The company is based out in Toronto, Canada - far from being the best place to locate a VPN in (intel sharing and surveillance alliances and all of that)!

The story is very different, however, if you don’t really care about security and all that truly interests you is a free Firestick VPN.

Windscribe utilizes something that they call “Windflix” - a feature that allows users to bypass geo-restrictions and consume content that they wouldn’t be able to otherwise. This comes in the form of special servers - international users are able to view Netflix USA exclusive content, unlock other popular content-based websites on the web, and so on. Needless to say, this is great news when it comes to Firestick.

Furthermore, torrenting is also allowed. The company goes as far as to provide users with tutorials on how to configure torrenting clients (such as uTorrent) with their VPN - pretty neat!

When it comes to Windscribe being a “free VPN Firestick”, the company offers a free version of their VPN. The free version comes with 10 GB of data bandwidth per month and a total of 14 servers to pick from. Other than that, they also have monthly and yearly plans costing $9,00 USD and $4,08 USD per month, respectively.

5. IPVanish - 7-Day Free Trial

Ranks #5 out of 5 VPNs

Finally, let’s talk about the last contender for the “best VPN for Firestick” list - IPVanish. A pretty well-known name in the industry, IPVanish is a good choice for anyone looking to access region-locked content via their Firestick - let me tell you why.

Same as the other VPN providers on this free VPN for Firestick list, IPVanish offers optimal amounts of security and data protection. In addition to that, the company has a 24/7 live customer support chat, and more than 1200 servers in around 60 countries that you - the customer - can choose from. To add to the company’s legitimacy, it’s actually one of the oldest VPN providers around - IPVanish was founded all the way back in 1999!

As far as the best free VPN for Firestick goes, IPVanish does (naturally) unlock a lot of the region-restricted content sites on the web - Netflix is just one of them. While the vast majority of the company’s servers were already banned, I did manage to find some that worked just fine - we should keep our hopes up high that the situation will remain this way!

When it comes to IPVanish being free to use, well… As with NordVPN, Cyberghost and Windscribe, IPVanish offers its customers a free trial.

The company allows you to use their services for 7 days - after that, the most popular plan (1-year) is going to cost you $6,49 USD per month. Admittedly, this is quite a high price to pay for a VPN! That said, you are still going to receive all of the pros of the industry with IPVanish - whether it’s worth the money or not, it all kind of depends on your own personal preferences.

Choosing the Best Free Firestick VPN

Now that you know the top 5 contenders for the spot of the “best free VPN of Firestick”, how do you choose the right one?

As I’ve mentioned at the end of the IPVanish description, it all kind of boils down to personal preferences. Some people might want to have better download speed while streaming the content that they like, while others could still emphasize the importance of a maximum amount of security.

Whichever of the providers on this list you decide to go with, you can rest assured about a one, single fact - they all have great Firestick supporting services that you’ll be able to utilize!

Conclusions

Getting yourself a Firestick and not being able to use it because of geographically restricted content can be very frustrating. Thankfully, there are VPN providers that are always there to lend a helping hand and allowing you to consume the content that you want.

With this list of the top free VPNs for Firestick, you should be able to start utilizing your new device in no time. Before choosing and buying a VPN, though, make sure to take a look at our in-depth reviews of each of the providers mentioned on this list!

Too many servers

Maybe other people would see this as an advantage so sorry if my nordvpn review will confuse you but for me the number of server locations that nordvpn has is too much because it's confusing and sometimes I do not know wich server to choose so that it would work properly and would have good connection speed.

Is Cyberghost safe?

The Cyberghost reviews on the internet were really divided so I wanted to try for myself, as it is not expensive at all:) and of course I did some research myself (like reading here haha) and decided to buy it. So is cyberghost safe? I cannot say for 100%, but I believe it's safe and I liked it overall. Maybe interface could be better.

Not like a ghost at all

hey people who wanna be safe. Wanted to leave this Cyberghost review so that you would know what to expect from this vpn. It could have a longer money back guarantee (it's 45 days) and have more connections possible, but overall I liked it and I think the majority of security enthusiasts will like it too:) cheers

Decent VPN for everyday use

I already renewed my NordVPN subscribtion for the second time because I think it's a great option for those who are concerned about their security. I spend a lot of time in public places and I'm forced to use public internet connections, so this VPN makes me feel safe and protected.

Don't completely agree with the review

This Cyberghost vpn review is to the point. Altough, I don't agree with one thing - that it has lots of features and add-ons. Well, features yes, but add-ons - I could argue, could have more. Other than that - great.

Good n fast

I use NordVPN for over a year now and I have nothing to complain about, many locations to choose from, good speed, works with torrenting, etc. Just sometimes have issues connecting to Amazon prime, but after retrying several times it eventually works.

Doesn't keep logs

...let me start with saying that I was sceptical about all the vpn business, but was bumbed about article 13 and used torrents a lot... read that vpn is a good product to keep your privacy on the internet, so the first one I bought was Cyberghost vpn. So does cyberghost vpn keep logs? no, I don't think so and I tend to trust their transperancy;)0

Cyberghost review is not true. How do I know? I tried it of course. It says that the customer support is amazing but mine wasn't all that much. I asked for a refund and only three hours passed the deadline and they refused to give it to me.... that is not great practise I think.
