VPNs are useful tools all around. Even though they are mainly used by your average, every-day person for various simple activities, these tools can also be used in multiple different businesses and corporations. In this review, we’ll take a look at the top 7 business VPNs that are currently circling the market.

First of all, I’ll tell you about the main features that you should be looking for in a VPN provider whenever you’re searching for VPN solutions for small business. Once we’ve established a common ground, we’ll move on to the actual VPNs themselves.

The 7 VPN providers that we’ll be reviewing in this article are, as follows:

Let's get right into it!

How to Choose a Business VPN?

When you’re choosing a VPN for business, there are a few different factors that you should keep in mind. These factors are important in all (well, most) of the situations where you might require a VPN, but the case is especially so when it relates to business.

A business VPN, among other things, should have 3 distinct features: it should be secure, should have no history of information logging whatsoever, and should provide many business-related features that you could then utilize with the rest of your team.

Whether it’s a small business VPN or one that’s aimed at gigantic corporations, the most important factor is surely security.

Businesses tend to have a lot (and I do mean - a lot!) of sensitive data that they want to not only protect, but also keep safe from the prying eyes of their competitors. Without good security, none of that would be possible.

Data logging is a no-brainer - it’s a tragedy for individual people who use VPNs, so I needn’t mention the effects that an information-collecting VPN could have on your company, now do I?

While various additional features are often simply “nice-to-haves”, some VPN providers do offer specific business VPNs that are optimized in a way that would be more beneficial to teams of people, instead of individual users alone.

While this definitely isn’t the deciding factor between good VPN solutions for small business and bad ones, it’s still something worth taking into consideration.

Now that we’ve laid out the foundations for a good business VPN, let’s take a look at the top 7 VPNs that are well-optimized and ready to be used by businesses, both small and large.

What are the main NordVPN Pros?

Here's the list of the benefits NordVPN offers:

  • Security: Kill switch, no DNS or IP leaks, safe jurisdiction. No logging.
  • Data Encryption: AES 256-bit, OpenVPN
  • Speed: 8/10
  • Additional Features: Supports torrenting and unlocks Netflix.

NordVPN is a giant in the VPN industry. While (according to the majority of business VPN reviews) it’s not one of the most popular choices when it comes to a VPN for business, I would tend to argue otherwise. Let me explain.

Many VPN reviewers online state that Nord lacks a lot of features that would make it a viable VPN to use in a business environment. I do agree that, in nature, Nord is better-suited to be used by individuals instead of companies, but that is only one side of a coin.

I’d argue that the top-tier data protection that Nord provides is far more important than dealing with a VPN that has a few cool business-based features, but keeps on leaking information all over the place. Because of this, I’ve decided to include NordVPN in this business VPN review.

So then, security. Nord, same as ExpressVPN, offers users the “ultimate combination” - AES 256 and the OpenVPN protocol. Additionally, you could use two more protocols - IPSec and IKEv2.

Since data protection and security is so important for companies worldwide, you’ll probably be happy to hear that NordVPN is based out in Panama. Why is this important? Well, Panama falls outside of any of the intelligence-sharing alliances.

This means that the governments of the largest countries in the world won’t be able to access your information, even if they wanted to. However, this is somewhat of a “secondary assurance” - Nord does not keep any logs on your business, and so wouldn’t have anything to show to the government, in the first place.

Nord hasn’t got any history with sensitive information leaks, hasn't gotten into any troubles or any notable controversies (there was one, but they proved that they were innocent without reasonable doubt).

Another feature of why it might be one of the best VPN solutions for small business is the server count - Nord offers users more than 5000 servers! This is an absolutely insane amount of servers to choose from - more than enough for even the largest of corporations out there!

The VPN is great pricing-wise, too. The most popular 3-year plan will cost you $2,99 per month (here, 1 EUR = 1,13 USD). Furthermore, NordVPN allows you to connect double the amount of devices when compared to ExpressVPN - you’ll be able to utilize a maximum of 6 connections at a time.

What are the main ExpressVPN Pros?

Here's the list of the benefits ExpressVPN offers:

  • Security: No logging policy, located in the BVI.
  • Data Encryption: AES 256-bit, OpenVPN
  • Speed: 9/10
  • Additional Features: Supports torrenting and unlocks Netflix; more than 3000 servers.

If you’re at least somewhat familiar with the VPN industry, ExpressVPN is probably a name that you’ll know pretty well. It’s one of the top service providers of the industry, both when it comes to individuals and businesses alike.

First of all, ExpressVPN is hella safe. It utilizes the industry standard AES 256-bit data encryption together with the OpenVPN protocol. This combination ensures that not only is your information protected and encrypted by the best encryption tools in the world, but that your connections are safe, too (whether it be Peer-to-Peer file sharing connections, or else).

ExpressVPN also exercises a strict no logging policy. This provider is one of the best solutions for small business because of this - Express has no prior history of keeping any logs on its users.

That being said, it is important to note that not all “logging” is unacceptable - the majority of VPN providers out there (majority - not all!) tend to keep some certain, non-sensitive information about their users.

This would include billing and payment information, emails, dates of when the users log on to the VPN (not the times of day, though), and so on.

Another great thing about ExpressVPN is that it’s a DNS, IP and WebRTC leak-free. This is also a very important thing to note when it comes to business VPNs - whenever a VPN leaks your DNS or IP, your connection becomes exposed to the eyes of your internet service provider.

Given that you’re using a VPN in the first place, that’s probably not something that you would want happening.

Express also provides users with some amazing connection speeds (you’ll barely notice that you’re even using a VPN!) and offers more than 3000 servers to choose from!

While this might be a bit too much for individual users, it’s a great feature as far as business VPNs go - with so many servers, you’ll be able to everything and anything that your company might require.

The only real problem as far as ExpressVPN goes in the business department is that it only allows a maximum of 3 connections at a time.

That said, while this might definitely be an issue for huge corporations, it still doesn’t take away from Express being a great contender for the spot of the best VPN for small business - smaller companies most probably won’t require a lot of simultaneous connections.

While ExpressVPN might not be the cheapest alternative out there, it’s definitely worth every penny. A 12-month plan will cost you $8,32 USD per month.

3. PrivateVPN - Great Customer Support

Ranks #3 out of 7 VPNs

What are the main PrivateVPN Pros?

Here's the list of the benefits PrivateVPN offers:

  • Security: No logs, no governmental interference.
  • Data Encryption: AES 256-bit, IPv6 leak protection.
  • Speed: 7/10
  • Additional Features: Torrenting, Netflix, great customer support, decent speed.

PrivateVPN is one of the most reliable VPN tools around. It comes equipped with all of the main features that you would expect from the best business VPN - let's deconstruct them one by one, shall we?

First of all, PrivateVPN has top-tier data integrity and security measures in place. The VPN does not keep any logs on its users, which is an essential point for anyone wanting to use a VPN for business. Also, it utilizes the AES 256 encryption technology - all of the sensitive business data that you might share is going to be protected by the strongest encryption around!

The VPN is also quite fast, which will be a great addition to people who are working in a bigger business, and need a VPN that would be able to hold a few users at a time, without sacrificing too much connection speed in the process.

Pricing-wise, PrivateVPN is somewhere in the middle - it's not too expensive, but isn't the most affordable option, either. A single subscription to their most popular plan (13 months) will cost you $3,83 per month.

What are the main CyberGhost Pros?

Here's the list of the benefits CyberGhost offers:

  • Security: No logging policy.
  • Data Encryption: AES 256-bit, OpenVPN
  • Speed: 9/10
  • Additional Features: Netflix, torrenting, easy to use, live customer support.

Currently, as of writing this "best business VPN" article, CyberGhost is one of the best VPNs around - both when it comes to business, and in general. What makes this product as good as it is, though?

Well, for starters, the tool is famous for something that doesn't even have anything to do with its functionality itself - the customer support. CyberGhost has live customer support - something that's almost crucial for anyone looking for the best VPN for small businesses (and big ones, alike!). The support is friendly and helpful - good stuff!

CyberGhost also has a strict "no-logs" policy,  is fast and compatible with multiple different devices, and supports Tor and Netflix (admittedly, the latter features might not be as important for anyone running a business). It does also have many different additional features that should ease the use of the tool, while also providing you with everything that you might need from a top-tier VPN.

Purchasing the most popular 3-year plan, it will come out to be $2,75 per month. Pretty decent pricing!

What are the main Private Internet Access Pros?

Here's the list of the benefits Private Internet Access offers:

  • Security: No-logging policy, no DNS, IP or WebRTC leaks.
  • Data Encryption: AES 256-bit, OpenVPN
  • Speed: 8/10
  • Additional Features: Fast, affordable, Netflix and torrent support.

Private Internet Access is often referenced as one of the most reliable VPNs in the industry. It's equipped with all of the essential features that you'd expect from a high-quality VPN, and that make it a suitable contender on this "best business VPN" list. Well, almost all... The VPN lacks live customer support.

Bummer? It is. Still, however, that's not a true game-breaker, especially seeing that most of the other features that Private Internet Access DOES have are great - no data logging, good speed parameters, OpenVPN and AES 256-bit data encryption, and so on.

An important point to mention here is that the VPN also has no DNS leaks (nor IP or WebRTC ones). Quite frankly, all of your information is safe and secure with the VPN - you don't have to worry about something leaking put to malicious third parties.

As noted earlier, the VPN is also quite affordable. A 24-month subscription is going to cost you $3,49 per month. Not too bad, considering all of the great features that the toll provides!

What are the main SurfShark Pros?

Here's the list of the benefits SurfShark offers:

  • Security: No logging policy.
  • Data Encryption: OpenVPN
  • Speed: 5/10
  • Additional Features: Super cheap, allows torrenting & Netflix and supports TOR.

Surfshark is somewhat in the same boat with NordVPN in the sense that it isn’t really mentioned all that often when it comes to choosing the best VPN for small business. Again, I would argue that this shouldn’t be the case - let me elaborate on the why.

Surfshark is very easy to use, so you’ll have zero problems implementing the VPN in your workplace. Together with ExpresVPN, Surfshark is also located in the British Virgin Islands. Here, the situation is exactly the same as in Panama - zero governmental interference with VPN provider activities.

This comes together with the fact that Surfshark has all of the industry-standard security features in place - OpenVPN with the 256-bit data encryption, strict no data logging policy, etc.

In addition to having a super-clean record and no information leaks or malware history, Surfshark might be a tempting option for people who are looking for a business VPN because of the speed that the VPN provides, too.

Even though not as well-known as the industry giants, Surfshark still provides speeds that are in-line with NordVPN and ExpressVPN.

That’s not even the best part, though.

The thing that should boost Surfshark into the top spots of the “best VPN for small business” lists is the fact that this provider allows you to connect an unlimited number of devices to the VPN. This is an incredibly rare feature, and one that should be super attractive to both small and large corporations, alike.

That’s not even the end of it, either! Surfshark also offers one of the most competitive prices in the game. Purchasing the most popular plan, you will receive 24 months of VPN usage for only $1,99 paid each month!

What are the main VyprVPN Pros?

Here's the list of the benefits VyprVPN offers:

  • Privacy: No-Logging Policy
  • Additional Features: Netflix and Torrenting Allowed, Great Customer Support
  • Strong Security: Chameleon for Premium Plan

While being a primarily individual-oriented VPN provider, VyprVPN does offer two distinct plans that are centered around businesses. While it might be one of the less-known VPN providers on this list, it’s definitely big in the business VPN world.

As far as security goes, Vypr offers users a no-logging policy, does not leak DNS, IP or WebRTC, and has a few more safety measures in place (like a strong, time-tested encryption). The company also does not have any specific historical security breaches, hacks, or anything in between - that’s a good sign!

One of the main features that are advertised by the company is the speed that the VPN provides - honestly, it’s top-notch, and can easily compare with the top VPN providers in the world.

When it comes to using VyprVPN for business, you can choose from the above-mentioned two plans - “VyprVPN for Business” and “VyprVPN for Business Cloud”. The former plan costs $299 per year, and includes global servers, multiple user management, and a dedicated account manager.

The latter plan totals out to be $349 per year, offering users personal dedicated servers, a dedicated IP address, and a fast and easy deployment.

Conclusion

These were the top 7 business VPNs that are currently circulating and dominating the market. Which one would be best for you? Well, it does kind of depend on the person and the company in question - what’s the type and the size of the company? What are its goals? Why do you and your company need a VPN, in the first place?

Depending on the answers to these questions, you’ll be able to pick the right VPN for you and your team!

FAQ

What makes up the best business VPN?

The best business VPN is going to be information leakage-free, will absolutely not log your data and should have at least some features that would be useful for a bigger team of people. As you might notice, many of these VPNs overlap with the best VPNs, overall - that's pretty good, given that you'll know that you've picked the best of the best!

What's the difference between a simple VPN and one that's designed for business?

As you might have noticed by now, there isn't all that much of a difference - most of the top-tier VPNs will be suitable both for business and for everyday use, too. The main differences might lie in connection speed and multiple device support - other than that, a single high-end VPN should be suitable for both types of scenarios.

Can I use VPN for torrenting?

Yes, it can. The most popular content platform for top VPNs to unblock is Netflix. Even though it’s available almost everywhere, USA users have a much bigger content variety. That’s why a lot of people use VPNs to view that kind of content via USA-located servers. If the content you want to view is geo-blocked, you can look up which servers (in which regions) the top VPN providers possess and which ones are right for you. You can easily find this information for each best VPN service in our VPN reviews.

What sets Top50vpn apart from other top VPN review sites?

We strive to be as reliable as possible & we are not competing with anyone. Top50vpn goal is to provide readers with the most insightful & helpful information. That’s why our VPN review process is more thorough than anyone else’s - we use a lot of different testing methods as well as the brainpower of true professionals. We do not take payments for writing reviews or changing them. Also, all the user reviews you see on the site are genuine, which may not be the case with other review sites. To put it simply, we take more time to test & review top rated VPNs - that’s why you get unique insights from us on a daily basis.

Can VPNs be used to unblock content?

Yes, you definitely can (and you should!). Best VPNs usually offer safe P2P file sharing option, which means that while torrenting, you are connected to Peer-to-Peer file sharing in order to download really fast. If the VPN doesn’t shy away from using torrents, it will secure your connection from other people using the same connection. If you want to find out which top VPNs allow torrenting, check our thorough VPN reviews.

How do you decide which provider offers the best VPN?

Deciding which provider has the top VPN is not an easy task, but it sure is fun! We have a dedicated team of professionals who test each VPN from start to finish, measuring all of the most important features. We buy all the VPNs ourselves, use machine learning & data science algorithms, get opinions from hundreds of real users, MIT professors, internet security experts and more. The top VPN services are decided by measuring all these important metrics, and never by the request of the providers.
